Jefferson County, MO (March 3, 2025) – A three-vehicle crash on northbound US 67, just south of Highway CC, resulted in multiple injuries on Saturday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 3:25 p.m. when a 2016 Dodge Ram 1500, driven by a 74-year-old male from Potosi, approached slowing traffic in the left lane. The Dodge Ram collided with the rear of a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country, which was stopped behind a 2010 Ford F-150 due to congestion. The impact caused the Chrysler to crash into the rear of the Ford.

Emergency responders, including the Joachim-Plattin Ambulance District, transported several injured individuals to Mercy Hospital Jefferson. Among the injured were a 6-year-old female and a 20-year-old female, both occupants of the Chrysler. The 53-year-old male driver of the Chrysler also sustained injuries.

Additionally, a 69-year-old female occupant of the Dodge Ram and a 25-year-old male passenger in the Ford were taken to the hospital for medical treatment. The 29-year-old driver of the Ford sought treatment at an urgent care facility in Festus, MO.

The Chrysler sustained total damage and was towed by Miner’s Towing, while the Dodge Ram and Ford F-150 sustained moderate damage and were also towed from the scene.

Authorities continue to investigate the crash.

Our thoughts are with those injured, and we wish them a full recovery.

Rear-End Collisions on Highways

Rear-end collisions are among the most common types of highway crashes, particularly in congested traffic conditions. High-speed impacts can result in serious injuries, especially when multiple vehicles are involved.

Drivers must remain alert and maintain a safe following distance to prevent chain-reaction crashes. When approaching slowing or stopped traffic, it is crucial to reduce speed gradually and remain aware of surrounding vehicles.

Victims of multi-vehicle crashes often face medical expenses, rehabilitation, and vehicle repair costs. Understanding legal rights and seeking professional guidance can help those injured recover compensation for their losses.
