Miami Township, OH (March 2, 2025) – A multi-vehicle rollover crash early Sunday morning left one person hospitalized and caused a power outage after a vehicle struck a utility pole.

According to the Miami Valley Fire District, the crash occurred at approximately 6:40 a.m. at the intersection of Byers Road and Maue Road. Kettering dispatch confirmed that one of the vehicles involved crashed into an AES Ohio power pole, leading to the pole’s collapse.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported one injured individual to Sycamore Medical Center for treatment. Details regarding the severity of the injuries have not yet been released.

Miami Township authorities are handling the investigation into the cause of the crash. Meanwhile, AES Ohio crews remained on-site into the late morning hours working to restore power to affected residents.

Our thoughts are with the injured individual, and we hope for a full recovery.

The Dangers of Rollover Crashes and Utility Pole Collisions

Rollover crashes and accidents involving utility poles can lead to severe injuries due to the high-impact forces involved. When vehicles collide with poles, power outages, road blockages, and even secondary collisions can occur, creating hazards for other drivers.

Many rollover crashes are caused by excessive speed, driver distraction, or sudden swerving to avoid obstacles. Investigators will typically examine roadway conditions, vehicle speeds, and driver behavior to determine the cause of the crash.

For those injured in crashes, recovery can involve medical treatments, rehabilitation, and financial burdens from lost wages or vehicle repairs. Understanding legal options and seeking professional guidance can help victims secure compensation for their injuries and damages.
