Green Lake Township, MN (March 1, 2025) – A two-vehicle collision occurred on northbound Highway 23 at milepost 154 in Green Lake Township, Kandiyohi County, on Friday afternoon, resulting in injuries.
According to reports from the Minnesota State Patrol, the crash took place at approximately 2:51 p.m. A Chevrolet Silverado and a Ford F-150 were both traveling north on Highway 23 when they collided.
Emergency responders, including Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, Spicer Fire Department, Spicer First Responders, and Centra Care Ambulance, arrived at the scene to assist the victims.
The driver of the Chevrolet Silverado, identified as 48-year-old Daniel Martin Ruter of Spicer, MN, was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured in the crash.
The driver of the Ford F-150, identified as 19-year-old Roberto Altamirano Lopez of Paynesville, MN, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Willmar Hospital for treatment.
Authorities confirmed that road conditions were dry at the time of the crash, and neither driver was under the influence of alcohol. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
