Perry Township, OH (February 1, 2025) – A serious crash involving a garbage truck and a van left one person with life-threatening injuries Monday morning on State Route 123 near U.S. 68.
According to reports, the accident occurred at 7:25 a.m., prompting a response from Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) Georgetown Post and emergency medical teams. The driver of the garbage truck was outside the vehicle at the time of the crash, while the van driver suffered critical injuries.
Due to the severity of the injuries, the van driver was airlifted to a hospital via medical helicopter. Their current condition has not been released. Authorities are investigating the crash to determine the cause, including whether speed, distraction, or mechanical issues played a role.
