Lebec, CA (February 1, 2025) – A fatal crash was reported late Thursday night on Interstate 5 North near the Lebec Rd off-ramp.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the accident occurred at approximately 10:32 p.m. when a gray Toyota collided with a structure before landing on the right-hand side of the roadway. Emergency responders, including fire crews and paramedics, arrived at the scene shortly after receiving reports of the crash.
Authorities confirmed that CPR was administered at the scene in an attempt to resuscitate the victim. Despite efforts by emergency personnel, the individual succumbed to their injuries. The coroner was called to the scene around 1:05 a.m. to handle further proceedings.
Officials have not yet released the identity of the deceased pending notification of next of kin. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and authorities are working to determine if factors such as speed, impairment, or road conditions played a role in the incident.
