Ewa Beach, HI (February 28, 2025) – The Honolulu Police Department’s Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, has provided additional details regarding a serious crash that occurred at the intersection of Kauwili St and Laupapa St in Ewa Beach. The incident left a young girl critically injured on Thursday.
According to officials, the young girl was traveling westbound on Laupapa St when she attempted to make a left turn onto Kauwili St. During the turn, another vehicle struck her, causing her to be ejected onto the roadway. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) transported the child to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Authorities stated that the child was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. The juvenile driver of the other vehicle, along with a juvenile passenger, remained at the scene and did not suffer any injuries.
At this time, officials report that neither speed, drugs, nor alcohol appear to be contributing factors in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
