Fort Lauderdale, FL (February 28, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash in Fort Lauderdale left three people, including a Lauderhill police officer, injured on Thursday night.
According to authorities, the crash occurred at the intersection of Broward Boulevard and Northwest 11th Avenue. Witnesses reported that a pickup truck and a small sedan were traveling northbound on 11th Avenue when they collided with the police cruiser at the intersection.
The Lauderhill officer was reportedly returning from transporting an arrestee to jail when the accident took place.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, and the officer, along with two other individuals, suffered minor injuries. All three were transported to Broward Health Medical Center as a precaution. Among the injured was a woman who is seven months pregnant, according to her husband.
Photos from the scene showed the police cruiser with significant front-end damage and debris scattered throughout the roadway. The crash caused temporary road closures while officials investigated the incident, but the intersection has since reopened.
