Fort White, FL (February 28, 2025) – A 63-year-old woman from Lake City lost her life in a crash involving a semi-truck in Columbia County early Thursday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was driving eastbound on County Road 238 (Elim Church Road) around 6 a.m. when she entered the intersection of State Road 47. At that moment, a southbound semi-truck collided with her vehicle, causing both the car and the truck to overturn upon impact.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and confirmed that the woman had succumbed to her injuries. The truck driver was not harmed in the crash. Authorities are still investigating the circumstances of the accident to determine any contributing factors.

Our deepest condolences go out to the family and loved ones of the victim during this difficult time.

Truck Accidents in Florida

Collisions involving semi-trucks often result in devastating consequences due to the size and weight of these vehicles. Florida’s highways and rural roads, including State Road 47, frequently see serious truck-related accidents, particularly at intersections where right-of-way violations or limited visibility can contribute to crashes.

Tragically, accidents like this can leave families dealing with immense loss, financial hardship, and unanswered questions. Investigating factors such as road conditions, traffic signals, and potential driver error is crucial in determining liability and preventing similar tragedies.
