Deadly Highway Accidents in West Virginia
Highway crashes, particularly those involving commercial or heavy-duty vehicles, often lead to severe injuries and fatalities. Accidents on high-speed roadways like I-77 can be devastating due to the force of impact and the challenges of stopping quickly.
According to the West Virginia Department of Transportation, hundreds of fatal crashes occur each year on major highways, with factors such as driver distraction, fatigued driving, and adverse weather conditions contributing to many incidents. Collisions involving large vehicles, such as box trucks and trailers, can be particularly catastrophic due to their size and weight.
Victims and their families may face significant hardships after a fatal crash, including medical expenses, funeral costs, and the emotional toll of losing a loved one. While West Virginia law allows families to seek compensation in wrongful death cases, navigating legal options can be complex.
If you or a loved one has been affected by a fatal or serious accident, seeking legal guidance can help ensure that your rights are protected.
