Christian, MO (February 27, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash involving a school bus, a Buick Enclave, and a Chevrolet Equinox on US 160 at Goff Creek Rd left three people injured on February 26.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 3:48 p.m. when a 2019 IC school bus failed to yield and pulled into the path of a 2012 Buick Enclave. The Buick struck the right side of the bus, causing the school bus to veer off the west side of US 160 and collide with a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox.
The driver of the school bus, a 38-year-old woman from Reeds Spring, MO, was not reported as injured. The driver of the Buick Enclave, a 50-year-old man from Reeds Spring, sustained no reported injuries. However, the Chevrolet Equinox, driven by a 58-year-old woman from Nixa, MO, sustained extensive damage, and she, along with two juvenile passengers, suffered injuries.
Emergency responders transported the 58-year-old female driver and two juvenile male passengers, ages 0 and 4, to Cox South Hospital for medical treatment. The school bus sustained moderate damage but was driven from the scene, while both the Buick Enclave and Chevrolet Equinox required towing.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
Our thoughts are with the injured victims, and we hope for their full recovery.
School Bus Accidents in Missouri
School bus-related accidents, though rare, can pose significant risks to other vehicles on the road due to their size and limited maneuverability. Accidents like the one on US 160 can lead to medical expenses, vehicle repair costs, and long-term recovery for injured victims. Missouri follows an at-fault insurance system, meaning those injured in a crash may have legal options to seek compensation for their damages.
