Decatur Twp, PA (February 27, 2025) – A serious multi-vehicle crash involving three vehicles, fire, and multiple entrapments occurred on US Highway 522 North in Decatur Township, Mifflin County on Thursday.
Emergency responders from multiple departments, including Company Engine 5, Squad 5, Engine 2, Rescue 15, and EMS 12, rushed to the scene. Chief 15, Chief 15-1, Chief 5, and Rescue 15 were among the units responding to assist with the complex rescue operation.
Upon arrival, Lieutenant 5 reported active fire and multiple victims trapped inside the wreckage. Fire crews worked urgently to suppress the flames before they could spread to a nearby shed, while Rescue 15 and Squad 5 began extrication efforts to free the trapped occupants.
