Shelburne police, fire, and rescue crews responded to the crash shortly after 6 a.m. According to officials, a blue Honda CR-V traveling north crossed the center line and struck a southbound vehicle driven by 63-year-old Steven Siple. The Honda then collided with another vehicle driven by 67-year-old Rose Okoro before leaving the scene.

Siple sustained moderate injuries, while Okoro suffered serious injuries. Emergency responders transported both individuals to the University of Vermont Medical Center for treatment.

Authorities confirmed that all vehicles involved were totaled and have been towed from the scene. Police are investigating the incident and asking anyone with information to come forward.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims, and we wish them a full and speedy recovery.

Head-on and Multi-Vehicle Accidents in Vermont

Crashes involving vehicles crossing the center line often result in severe injuries due to the force of impact. Various factors, including distracted driving, fatigue, impairment, or road conditions can cause head-on and multi-vehicle collisions.

Shelburne Road is a major traffic route, and accidents in this area can lead to significant disruptions. Investigators will likely examine road conditions, vehicle speeds, and any potential driver impairment to determine the cause of this crash.

Victims of serious accidents may face extensive medical treatment, rehabilitation, and financial challenges. Vermont law allows injured individuals to seek compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and other damages if another driver’s negligence contributed to the crash.
