Hibbing, MN (February 24, 2025) – A crash involving an electric bicycle and a Nissan Murano resulted in injuries on Highway 169 at 25th St E in Hibbing on Sunday afternoon.
The accident occurred at approximately 2:43 p.m., when an electric bicycle was traveling east on 25th St and crossing the northbound side of Highway 169. During this maneuver, the bicycle was struck by a 2018 Nissan Murano.
The bicyclist, identified as 18-year-old Antoneise Ny’ajah Waters of Hibbing, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Fairview Range Medical Center for treatment. Authorities confirmed that she was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The driver of the Nissan Murano, 40-year-old Kevin John Lind of Britt, MN, and his passenger, 35-year-old Elise Marie Lind, were uninjured. No airbags deployed in the vehicle, and seat belts were in use. Officials confirmed that alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
The Hibbing Police and Fire Department assisted at the scene. An investigation is ongoing.
