Andrew County, MO (February 24, 2025) – A two-vehicle collision on northbound US-71 left a 20-year-old woman from Maryville with moderate injuries on Sunday afternoon, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 12:35 p.m. when a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500, driven by a 64-year-old man from Atchison, KS, slowed down to make a right turn into Andrew County Oil. The driver of a 2000 Chevrolet 1500, a 20-year-old woman from Maryville, MO, failed to observe the slowing vehicle and attempted to avoid a collision but struck the towed unit of the Dodge Ram.
Following the impact, the Chevrolet skidded clockwise and came to rest partially off the roadway, while the Dodge Ram came to a controlled stop off the road. The driver of the Chevrolet sustained moderate injuries and was transported by Andrew County EMS to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.
Both vehicles were towed by Blue Knight, and officials confirmed that the driver of the Chevrolet was wearing a seatbelt, while the driver of the Dodge Ram was not.
Authorities, including Sgt. D.R. Reuter (622) and the Andrew County Sheriff’s Office, assisted at the scene.
