Garland, TX (February 23, 2025) – An 18-year-old lost their life, and five others were injured in a tragic two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Garland Ave and Stratford Dr late Friday night.
According to reports, Garland police responded to the crash just before 10:30 PM. Investigators determined that one vehicle was making a turn from Stratford Dr onto Garland Ave when it was struck by another vehicle traveling southbound. The force of the impact caused one person to be ejected from the vehicle. Sadly, that individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
Five other occupants, ranging in age from 16 to 22 years old, sustained injuries and were transported to the hospital for treatment. Their current conditions have not been released.
Authorities found evidence of alcohol at the scene, though they are still working to determine whether impairment played a role in the collision. The cause of the crash remains under investigation as detectives continue gathering details.
