Annapolis, MD (February 22, 2025) – A tragic head-on collision in Annapolis claimed the life of a 47-year-old driver late Saturday night.
According to the Anne Arundel County Police Department, the crash occurred on Generals Highway near Knollwood Drive at approximately 11:58 p.m. on February 20. Emergency responders rushed to the scene following reports of a serious collision involving two vehicles.
Investigators determined that Jonathan David Rober, 47, was traveling northwest on Generals Highway when his vehicle crossed the center lane and collided head-on with another vehicle. Medics and fire crews worked to assist those suffering from injuries after the collision, and Rober was transported to Anne Arundel Medical Center, where he was later pronounced deceased.
The second vehicle involved in the crash was driven by a 38-year-old male, who was reportedly uninjured. Two 26-year-old female passengers in the vehicle suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to police. Their identities have not been disclosed.
The Crash Reconstruction Team is currently investigating the circumstances leading to the accident. Authorities have not yet determined if speed, impairment, or other factors contributed to the crash.
