Columbus, OH (February 22, 2025) – A wrong-way crash in west Columbus late Friday night left one woman dead and two others injured, according to the Columbus Division of Police.
The accident occurred at approximately 11:59 p.m. at Roberts Road and Renmill Drive, west of Walcutt Road.
Investigators determined that a Toyota Camry, driven by 22-year-old Adriana Castillo, was traveling east in the westbound lanes of Roberts Road when it collided head-on with a Toyota Corolla driven by an adult male. The impact caused the Corolla to spin counterclockwise before stopping in the westbound lane. Meanwhile, the Camry continued eastbound, crossing back over to the eastbound lanes before coming to a stop.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, and Castillo was transported to The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the Corolla was taken to Riverside Methodist Hospital, and a front-seat passenger was transported to OhioHealth Doctors Hospital. Both survivors were reported to be in stable condition.
Authorities are continuing to investigate what led to the tragic crash. Further updates may be released as more details become available.
Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of Adriana Castillo, and we hope for a full recovery for the injured victims.
