Easley, SC (February 22, 2025) – A tragic house fire in Pickens County resulted in the death of a 95-year-old man on Friday afternoon. The Pickens County Coroner’s Office confirmed that the fire occurred at a residence on Hamburg Rd, just outside Easley.
Authorities identified the victim as William Elree Bowens. Upon investigation, officials determined that the fire was fully contained inside the home. Emergency responders worked to extinguish the flames and assess the scene, but unfortunately, Bowens did not survive the incident.
The cause and manner of death have not yet been determined, and officials are continuing their investigation. Additional details will be released as authorities gather more information.
