Loudon, NH (February 21, 2025) – A devastating head-on collision on Route 106 near Rocky Pond left one person dead and two others injured on Thursday afternoon.
According to Loudon police and the New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit, the crash occurred shortly after 2:30 p.m. Emergency responders, including Loudon police, firefighters, and EMTs, were dispatched to the scene, along with mutual aid from a Belmont fire engine.
The collision involved a Comcast contractor utility truck with Pennsylvania plates and a Jeep. Both drivers were reported to be entrapped in their vehicles, with debris scattered across the highway. Witnesses described one victim partially ejected from a vehicle, while a Jeep tire was found approximately 10 feet away from the wreckage.
Authorities immediately closed Route 106 while crews worked to rescue the victims. A Chichester ambulance was called in for additional medical support. Emergency medical teams initially considered airlifting an elderly patient from the scene, but the helicopter transport was later canceled. Loudon and Chichester EMTs transported the injured to local hospitals.
The New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit arrived around 3:30 p.m. to investigate the crash. Fire crews cleared the scene by 6:00 p.m., and Route 106 reopened to traffic by 6:30 p.m.
Officials have confirmed that one person died in the crash, while two others suffered injuries. Their identities have not yet been released. The investigation into the cause of the accident remains ongoing.
