Bessemer, AL (February 21, 2025) – A 19-year-old Hoover resident lost his life in a two-vehicle crash in Bessemer on Monday, February 19.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Rodrigo Torrijos-Perez. The accident occurred at the intersection of 9th Avenue North and 22nd Street North.
Emergency crews rushed Perez to UAB Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later. Authorities have not released details about the other vehicle involved or any additional injuries.
The Bessemer Police Department is leading the investigation into the cause of the crash.
