Car Accidents in Minnesota
Intersections are among the most common locations for vehicle collisions, often resulting from failure to yield, distracted driving, or impaired operation of a vehicle. In Minnesota, accidents at intersections contribute significantly to the state’s annual crash statistics. Reports from the Minnesota Department of Public Safety indicate that alcohol impairment remains a factor in a substantial number of injury crashes statewide.
When alcohol is involved in an accident, it raises concerns about liability and legal consequences. Minnesota follows a no-fault insurance system, meaning injured parties may initially seek compensation through their own insurance providers. However, in cases where negligence—such as driving under the influence—plays a role, additional legal action may be necessary to recover damages.
Victims injured in crashes caused by impaired drivers have the right to pursue claims for medical expenses, lost wages, and other damages. Consulting with a legal professional can help those affected understand their rights and options following an accident.
