Orlando, FL (February 17, 2025) – A 55-year-old Orlando man tragically lost his life in a rear-end collision early Monday morning in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The crash occurred around 12:17 a.m. at the intersection of Orange Blossom Trail (OBT) and Hunter’s Creek Boulevard. Authorities reported that a 56-year-old Texas man was driving a 2025 Volkswagen Atlas southbound on OBT in the center lane when he failed to notice a 2012 Mazda 3 stopped at a traffic signal ahead.
The Volkswagen struck the rear of the Mazda with significant force. Emergency responders quickly arrived and transported both drivers to Osceola Regional Medical Center. Despite receiving medical care, the Orlando man succumbed to his injuries. The driver from Texas sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
