Pilot Knob, MO (February 14, 2025) – A tragic head-on collision on MO-21 south of Maple Street in Pilot Knob resulted in one fatality and two serious injuries Thursday evening.
Emergency responders were quick to the scene, providing care to the injured victims. The crash occurred at approximately 6:25 p.m. when a 1997 GMC Sierra traveling northbound crossed the centerline and collided with a southbound 2017 Ram 1500. The impact caused severe damage to both vehicles.
First responders, including paramedics and an Air Evac team, worked to assist those suffering from injuries after the crash. The 74-year-old male driver of the GMC Sierra, a Belleview, Missouri resident, was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene by the Iron County Coroner at 7:20 p.m. His body was transported to the Iron County Morgue.
The 65-year-old male driver of the Ram 1500 suffered serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur for emergency treatment. A 67-year-old female passenger in the Ram 1500 also sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Mercy Hospital.
Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene by Boyd’s Towing. Authorities from Troop E, including members of Crash Team 4, assisted in the investigation. Officials continue to review the circumstances surrounding the crash.
