Palm Coast, FL (February 14, 2025) – A 19-year-old Jacksonville man tragically lost his life in a five-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 in Flagler County late Thursday night.
According to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the accident occurred around 10:15 p.m. near mile marker 291 when a vehicle driven by a 24-year-old Jacksonville man veered off the roadway and then reentered the northbound lanes. Upon returning to the highway, the vehicle struck the back of another car driven by the 19-year-old victim.
The impact caused the victim’s car to lose control and sideswipe a third vehicle, driven by a 39-year-old St. Augustine man. The teen’s vehicle then spun around, facing south in the northbound lanes, where it was struck head-on by an oncoming pickup truck. A second pickup truck sustained additional damage in the crash.
The 19-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the first vehicle and the driver of the pickup truck that struck the teen’s car sustained minor injuries, while no other serious injuries were reported.
FHP continues to investigate the incident, and no further details have been released at this time.
Our deepest condolences go out to the family and loved ones of the victim.
Fatal Car Accidents in Florida
Interstate 95 is one of Florida’s most dangerous highways, with frequent high-speed collisions and multi-vehicle crashes. Accidents like this often occur due to sudden lane changes, driver distraction, or loss of vehicle control, leaving little time for surrounding motorists to react.
When fatal accidents happen, the emotional and financial toll on families can be devastating. Beyond grief, families may face medical bills, funeral expenses, and the loss of support from their loved one. Legal options may be available to those seeking accountability for negligence or unsafe driving behaviors that contributed to the crash.
