Indianapolis, IN (February 13, 2025) – A bicyclist was struck and killed in a collision on the near south side of Indianapolis on Tuesday morning, according to authorities.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department’s Southeast District were dispatched at approximately 7:11 a.m. to the 2100 block of Shelby St. following reports of a serious bodily injury accident.
Upon arrival, emergency responders located an adult male victim with trauma-related injuries. The individual had been riding a bicycle at the time of the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the crash site and cooperated with authorities. Police stated that the driver showed no signs of impairment but was transported to a local hospital for a routine blood draw.
The I-65 exit to E Raymond St. was closed for several hours, and eastbound traffic along E Raymond St. was also restricted. Westbound traffic was limited to a single lane before normal traffic patterns resumed later in the day.
