St. Louis, MI (February 12, 2025) – A tragic collision between a semi-truck and a train resulted in the death of the truck driver in Gratiot County on Tuesday morning.
According to reports, authorities were called to N Baldwin Road near E. Monroe Road at approximately 11:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a crash involving a northbound semi-truck and an oncoming train. The driver of the semi, identified as 61-year-old Bruce Wiltfong from Ithaca, Michigan, was fatally injured in the crash.
The Gratiot County Sheriff’s Office and the Michigan State Police have launched an investigation into the accident to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
