Florence County, SC (February 11, 2025) – Emergency responders were quick to the scene following a deadly head-on collision that occurred early Sunday morning in Florence County. The South Carolina Highway Patrol reported that the incident took place around 6:40 AM on Highway 52 near Clement St.
According to Lance Cpl. Lena Butler, a 2001 Ford Mustang collided head-on with a 2008 Lexus LS 460. The driver of the Ford Mustang was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the Lexus was transported to a local hospital with injuries. The extent of the Lexus driver’s injuries has not been disclosed.
The name of the deceased driver has not yet been released by authorities. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine any contributing factors.
