Henry County, MO (February 9, 2025) – A tragic vehicle crash occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday on MO 18 at SW 100th Rd in Henry County, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. The accident took place around 1:59 a.m. and involved a 2023 Tesla Model S.
According to investigators, the Tesla was traveling southbound when it veered off the left side of the roadway, striking several trees. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn and catch fire. Both the 36-year-old male driver and a 28-year-old male passenger, both from Clinton, MO, were pronounced dead at the scene by Henry County Coroner Paul Abbott at 2:07 a.m.
Neither of the victims was reported to have been wearing a safety device at the time of the crash. The vehicle sustained total damage and was towed from the scene by Clinton Wrecker.
The crash is being investigated by Troop A of the Missouri State Highway Patrol and marks the 7th fatal crash and 7th and 8th fatalities for the troop in 2025. The scene was also assisted by Henry County Deputies and additional members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
