Terre Haute, IN (February 6, 2025) – A three-vehicle crash in Terre Haute on U.S. 46 has resulted in one fatality and left three others injured, according to the Terre Haute Police Department.
The crash occurred shortly before 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, prompting a swift response from emergency crews and the Terre Haute Police Department’s Crash Team. Authorities reported that Mary L. Modesitt, 74, of Brazil, Indiana, succumbed to her injuries while receiving medical treatment at a local hospital.
Three other individuals involved in the crash are still receiving treatment for their injuries. The severity of their conditions has not been disclosed. The identities of the other victims have not been released at this time.
As of 10:00 a.m. Thursday, the Terre Haute Police Department confirmed that their investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. All lanes of U.S. 46 were expected to reopen by 4:30 p.m., after hours of traffic disruption due to the accident and investigation efforts.
