Lonoke, AR (February 4, 2025) – A tragic collision on Interstate 40 near mile marker 170 claimed the life of one person and left another injured on Sunday afternoon, according to authorities.
The crash occurred at approximately 4:50 p.m. as two westbound vehicles were involved in a serious collision. According to the Arkansas State Police, a 2014 Chevrolet was traveling west on I-40 when it struck a 2021 Toyota traveling in the same direction. The impact caused both vehicles to veer off the roadway to the right and into the tree line. The Chevrolet crashed head-on into a tree, while the Toyota struck another tree on its front driver’s side, causing it to roll over.
One of the drivers, identified as 57-year-old Stacey Moore of Lonoke, was fatally injured in the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 18-year-old Kalleigh Marie Martin of Scott, sustained injuries and was transported to UAMS for treatment.
The road was dry at the time of the accident, and weather conditions were reported as clear. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
