St. Clair County, IL (February 4, 2025) – A motorcyclist lost his life in a collision with a car on Sunday night south of Troy, according to authorities.
The crash occurred at approximately 6:12 p.m. on Scott Troy Rd near the intersection of Old Lebanon Troy Rd. Deputies from the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department arrived at the scene and located a black 1999 Honda motorcycle and a maroon 2015 Ford Mustang involved in the crash. The motorcyclist, identified as 50-year-old Darroll Clifford Lambert of Troy, was critically injured.
Witnesses at the scene attempted life-saving measures, performing CPR on Lambert until first responders arrived. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced deceased at the scene at 7:24 p.m. The driver of the Mustang, a female whose name has not been released, remained at the scene.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine the cause and whether any contributing factors, such as speed or visibility, played a role.
