Berkeley, CA (February 4, 2025) – A devastating house fire in Berkeley early Monday morning claimed the life of one person and left three others injured, according to local authorities.
The fire broke out at approximately 4:35 a.m. on Cedar Street, west of San Pablo Avenue. As flames engulfed the home, Berkeley firefighters quickly entered rescue mode, breaking a window to gain access and pull victims from the burning structure.
All four individuals inside the home were transported to a local hospital. Two of them sustained critical injuries, and one later died from their injuries. A pet inside the home also perished in the fire, officials confirmed.
Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the blaze, and an investigation remains ongoing. Further details have not been released at this time.
