Detroit, MI (February 3, 2025) – Authorities are searching for a driver who fled the scene after fatally striking a pedestrian on northbound I-75 near W Grand Boulevard on Sunday night.
According to Michigan State Police, calls initially came in around 7:45 p.m. regarding a man walking along the freeway. Moments later, another caller reported that the man had begun running in the lanes of traffic.
Police responded to the scene and discovered the body of a 42-year-old man from Ohio lying in the left lane. Tragically, he had suffered fatal injuries from being struck by a vehicle. The driver responsible for the collision did not remain at the scene.
Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has relevant information to contact the Michigan State Police Metro South Post as they continue their investigation.
