Contra Costa, CA (February 3, 2025) – A pedestrian was struck and killed in a tragic collision Monday night at the intersection of Port Chicago Highway and Riverside Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The fatal accident occurred around 8:26 p.m. when a red GMC vehicle hit a pedestrian. Witnesses reported seeing the victim on the right-hand side of the roadway, unresponsive. Emergency responders, including fire crews and law enforcement, arrived at the scene, but the pedestrian did not survive.
Officials confirmed that the Contra Costa County Coroner’s Office was notified, and an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of the crash. Tow trucks were later called to remove the involved vehicle for evidence processing.
