Perris, CA (February 2, 2025) – A traffic collision with injuries was reported on Interstate 215 North near State Route 74 in Perris.
The crash occurred at approximately 11:37 p.m., involving a black Honda and an unknown vehicle. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the collision happened when a white Honda attempted to enter the freeway the wrong way from the Redlands off-ramp and attempted a U-turn. Another vehicle swerved to avoid a collision but was ultimately struck.
First responders, including paramedics and CHP officers, arrived at the scene to assess the situation. Reports indicate that at least one person sustained injuries in the crash. The exact extent of injuries remains unclear, but emergency crews provided medical assistance at the scene.
Following the collision, the occupants of the black vehicle reportedly fled the scene, with three individuals running down the on-ramp. Authorities issued a “be on the lookout” (BOL) notice in an effort to locate the suspects.
The northbound lanes of I-215 near SR-74 experienced temporary lane blockages as officials worked to investigate and clear the wreckage. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office (RSO) was notified to assist in locating the fleeing individuals.
The crash remains under investigation, and authorities urge anyone with additional information to come forward.
