Norway, WI (January 29, 2025) – A 32-year-old Walworth County man tragically lost his life in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway K and Beaumont in the Town of Norway on Wednesday afternoon. The accident occurred at approximately 3:30 p.m., according to the Racine County Sheriff’s Office.
Emergency crews from Kansasville and Norway responded to the scene after a witness reported that one of the individuals involved was unresponsive. Authorities say the Walworth County man had been stopped at the stop sign on Beaumont but pulled into the path of an eastbound utility pickup truck traveling on Highway K. It is suspected that he was unfamiliar with the area.
The impact of the crash left the man’s vehicle heavily damaged, requiring extrication by rescue personnel. A Flight for Life was requested, but despite life-saving efforts, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 28-year-old Racine County resident, remained at the scene and cooperated fully with law enforcement. Officials confirmed that there were no signs of impairment for either driver and no additional passengers in either vehicle.
The Racine County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the crash.

Intersection Accidents in Wisconsin
Intersection-related crashes are a leading cause of serious injuries and fatalities, especially in rural areas where cross-traffic visibility can be limited. Highway K and Beaumont in the Town of Norway is an area where high-speed travel on major roads meets lower-speed traffic entering from side streets, increasing the risk of collisions when drivers misjudge gaps or fail to yield.
Failure to yield is one of the most common causes of intersection accidents, often due to driver inexperience, distraction, or unfamiliarity with local roadways. To reduce the risk of crashes, motorists should approach intersections with caution, double-check for oncoming traffic, and allow ample time to cross safely.
For families who lose loved ones in tragic accidents, navigating the aftermath can be overwhelming. Seeking legal guidance and understanding available resources can be crucial steps in the recovery process.
