Columbus, OH (January 30, 2025) – A person was extricated from a vehicle following a collision that resulted in a car fire Friday morning in the Discovery District.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene at E Spring St and Lester Dr at approximately 9:32 a.m. following reports of a vehicle crash with injuries. Initial reports indicated that a woman may have been trapped inside a vehicle following the impact.
Firefighters worked swiftly to free the trapped individual while also battling a vehicle fire that had ignited due to the collision. By 9:55 a.m., emergency crews had successfully extricated the individual from the wreckage. Officials confirmed that the situation was contained shortly before 10 a.m.
Additionally, responders notified City Light about the damage sustained to a streetlight pole at the scene. Authorities have not yet confirmed the number of vehicles involved or the extent of injuries sustained in the crash.
Motorists in the area were advised to use caution as cleanup efforts continued. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
