Intersection Accidents in Chicago
Intersections are among the most dangerous areas for traffic collisions, especially when drivers fail to obey traffic signals. Accidents involving red-light violations or failure to yield can result in serious injuries, particularly when high speeds are involved.
According to the Illinois Department of Transportation, a significant percentage of crashes in urban areas occur at intersections, often leading to injuries requiring medical care. Common contributing factors include distracted driving, reckless speeding, and impaired judgment.
For those involved in an intersection crash, seeking immediate medical attention is crucial. Additionally, gathering evidence—such as photos, traffic camera footage, and police reports—can be essential in determining liability and securing fair compensation for injuries and damages.
