Dallas County, MO (January 29, 2025) – A head-on collision on Missouri Route 64 left three people injured early Wednesday morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at approximately 5:14 a.m., about eight miles east of Louisburg. Authorities reported that a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by a 37-year-old man from Urbana, MO, crossed the center line and collided with a westbound 2019 Chevrolet Malibu. The impact caused the Malibu to veer off the roadway and overturn down an embankment.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene and transported three occupants from the Malibu to Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar for treatment of injuries. The injured included:

  • A 20-year-old female driver from Bolivar, MO
  • A 2-year-old male passenger from Bolivar, MO
  • A 21-year-old male passenger from Weaubleau, MO

Both vehicles sustained significant damage. The Malibu was towed by Wade’s Towing, while the Equinox, which had moderate damage, was removed by Stauffers Towing.

The crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine what caused the Equinox to cross into oncoming traffic.

We wish all those injured a full and speedy recovery.

Head-On Collisions in Missouri

Head-on crashes, such as this one on MO-64, are among the most dangerous types of roadway accidents. These collisions often result in severe injuries due to the high-impact force between vehicles traveling in opposite directions.

Missouri law requires drivers to stay within their designated lanes and exercise caution when navigating curves, hills, and low-visibility areas to prevent crossing into opposing traffic. In many cases, head-on crashes result from distracted driving, drowsiness, impaired driving, or hazardous road conditions.

Even when occupants are properly restrained, as in this incident, head-on collisions can lead to significant injuries and emotional trauma. Victims often face medical expenses, lost wages, and long-term recovery challenges.

For those affected by serious crashes, understanding legal options and available resources can be essential in navigating the recovery process. Seeking professional guidance can help victims and their families explore compensation for damages and support services.

If you or a loved one has been injured in a head-on collision, help is available. Speaking with experienced professionals can provide clarity on your next steps and the resources available for your recovery.
