Dunklin County, MO (January 29, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash on Highway 25, just a quarter mile south of Malden, left one person injured Wednesday morning, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred at approximately 9:38 a.m. when a 2015 Cadillac XTS, driven by a 20-year-old man from Corning, AR, failed to yield to a 2021 Kia Seltos driven by a 38-year-old woman from Dexter, MO. The Kia then collided with the rear of the Cadillac.

The driver of the Kia sustained injuries in the crash. She was transported by private vehicle to Mercy Stoddard Hospital in Dexter for medical evaluation.

Both vehicles sustained damage, with the Cadillac receiving minor damage and the Kia sustaining moderate damage. The Cadillac was removed from the scene by Dixie Wrecker, while Walker’s Towing transported the Kia.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.

We extend our thoughts to the injured driver and wish her a full recovery.

Rear-End Collisions in Missouri

Rear-end accidents, like this one on Highway 25, are common and can result from sudden stops, following too closely, or driver inattention. These types of collisions can lead to injuries, ranging from minor to severe, depending on the speed and impact at the time of the crash.

Missouri law requires drivers to maintain a safe following distance and remain alert to changing traffic conditions to prevent rear-end collisions. Even at moderate speeds, these accidents can cause vehicle damage and injuries that require medical treatment and recovery time.

For those involved in rear-end crashes, dealing with medical expenses, vehicle repairs, and potential lost wages can be challenging. Understanding available legal options can help victims seek the necessary support for their recovery.

If you or a loved one has been injured in a rear-end collision, help is available. Speaking with experienced professionals can provide clarity on your next steps and assist in navigating the recovery process.
