Henderson County, TX (January 27, 2025) – Three people, including two children, were injured in a house fire on Sunday morning in the Hidden Hills Harbor subdivision of Henderson County. The fire involved a single-wide trailer and prompted a swift response from local emergency crews.
Payne Springs Fire and Rescue (PSFR) reported that Engine 1 was among the first units to arrive on the scene. Firefighters quickly deployed two lines to combat the blaze. Due to the presence of a heavy metal roof over the structure, Henderson County Precinct 2 provided assistance with a backhoe during the overhaul phase to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.
Medics transported one adult and two children to a local hospital, where they were treated for injuries sustained during the incident. Thankfully, all three individuals have since been released following treatment. No further injuries were reported among residents or emergency personnel.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire. Our thoughts are with those impacted by this event, and we wish them a full recovery.
House Fires in Texas
House fires are a serious concern across Texas, often causing injuries, fatalities, and significant property damage. According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), residential fires account for the majority of fire-related injuries in the United States. Fires in manufactured homes, such as single-wide trailers, can spread quickly due to the structure’s materials and layout, making swift response and preparedness crucial.
Common causes of house fires include electrical issues, cooking accidents, and heating equipment malfunctions. While fire crews in Texas are well-equipped to handle these emergencies, incidents like the one in Henderson County underscore the importance of fire safety measures, such as smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and clear evacuation plans.
Communities can also play a role in fire prevention by supporting local fire departments, attending safety workshops, and staying informed about best practices to reduce fire risks.
If you or someone you know has been injured in a house fire, it is important to seek support to address both immediate needs and long-term recovery efforts.
