Killeen, TX (January 27, 2025) – The Killeen Police Department is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that claimed the life of a 20-year-old Fort Cavazos soldier on Saturday afternoon.
The accident occurred around 2:00 PM at the intersection of State Highway 195 and Creek Place Dr. According to police, the crash involved a Honda motorcycle and a red Toyota pickup truck. Witnesses reported that the motorcyclist was traveling at high speed and weaving between vehicles before the collision.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the soldier was driving the motorcycle southbound on SH-195, while the pickup truck was traveling eastbound on Creek Place Dr. As the pickup attempted to turn north onto SH-195, the motorcycle collided with the driver’s side of the truck. Tragically, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Justice of the Peace has ordered an autopsy. The driver of the pickup truck did not sustain any injuries, and their identity has not been disclosed. The name of the soldier is being withheld pending notification of family members.
