Richmond, IL (January 25, 2025) – Two workers sustained burn injuries during an industrial accident at Ex-Tech Plastics, located at 11413 North Burlington Rd in Richmond, on Friday morning. The incident occurred around 7:33 a.m., prompting a response from multiple emergency agencies.

The Richmond Township Fire Protection District and Richmond Police Department received a 911 call reporting a victim with burns. Due to Richmond fire crews being engaged with another call, the Spring Grove Fire Protection District was dispatched to assist. A Spring Grove ambulance arrived on-site at 7:46 a.m., where two adult male victims were found suffering from burn injuries.

Officials reported that the burns resulted from an industrial incident involving molten plastic rather than a fire. A second ambulance was called to the scene to assist. Both men were conscious, alert, and in stable condition when transported to a hospital for further treatment.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. Our thoughts are with the injured workers and their families, and we wish them a full recovery.
