Spring Grove, IL (January 25, 2025) – A serious head-on collision near the intersection of Main Street and Villa Vista in unincorporated Spring Grove left a man in critical condition and a woman injured Friday evening. The crash occurred at approximately 6:45 p.m., prompting a swift response from the Spring Grove Fire Protection District and the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.
Fox Lake Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Ted Damos reported that the crash took place directly in front of Fox Lake Fire Station #4, located at 911 Main Street, near a curve in the roadway. Emergency responders arrived to find both individuals trapped in their vehicles. The man, who was unresponsive, was extricated and rushed to the hospital in critical condition. The woman, also trapped and injured, was transported for medical treatment.
