Laclede County, MO (January 25, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash occurred on Interstate 44 eastbound near the 133-mile marker, involving three vehicles and resulting in injuries to two individuals. The collision was reported at approximately 5:44 p.m. and was investigated by CPL P.J. Vroegop of Troop I.
According to the report, the crash occurred as a 2007 Infiniti G35, driven by a 35-year-old male from Oklahoma City, OK, was fleeing law enforcement. The Infiniti struck the rear of a 2018 Ford Escape, which was being driven by a 67-year-old female from Lebanon, MO. Both vehicles then collided with the front and side of a 2023 Peterbilt 579 semi-tractor driven by a 43-year-old male from Windsor, NC.
The Infiniti and the Ford Escape sustained total damage and were towed from the scene, while the semi-tractor sustained minor damage and was driven away. The driver of the Infiniti suffered minor injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Lebanon before being taken into custody at the Laclede County Jail. The driver of the Ford Escape sustained serious injuries and was transported by EMS to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach. The driver of the semi-tractor was not reported to have sustained any injuries.
The crash remains under investigation, with authorities noting that the driver of the Infiniti was fleeing law enforcement at the time of the incident.
