Boone County, MO (January 26, 2025) – A tragic multi-vehicle crash occurred on southbound US-63 at Breedlove Dr in Boone County, resulting in one fatality and multiple injuries. The collision was reported at approximately 5:34 p.m. and was investigated by Troop F officers, including TPR D.L. Holliday, SGT P.W. Meyers, CPL N.W. March, TPR C.A. Fox, and TPR S.L. Ponder.
According to the crash report, the incident occurred as the driver of a 2017 Jeep Wrangler became distracted and failed to stop in time for traffic congestion ahead, striking the rear of a 2023 Ford Bronco. Both vehicles sustained total damage and were towed from the scene by I-70 Towing.
The crash resulted in devastating consequences. A 39-year-old female passenger in the Ford Bronco, from Moberly, MO, tragically died at the scene. She was pronounced deceased at 6:04 p.m. by Dr. Karl Huesgen and was transported to the Boone County Medical Examiner’s Office by Parker Millard Funeral Home. The 20-year-old male driver of the Jeep Wrangler, from Higbee, MO, sustained minor injuries and was transported to University Hospital by Boone Hospital EMS. The 25-year-old male driver of the Ford Bronco, also from Moberly, MO, suffered moderate injuries and was transported to University Hospital by University EMS. Additionally, two other occupants of the Ford Bronco, a 46-year-old male and a 47-year-old female, both from Moberly, suffered moderate and minor injuries, respectively, and were also transported to University Hospital.
The crash remains under investigation, with preliminary findings indicating that driver distraction played a significant role in causing the accident.
