According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the woman’s vehicle, a Kia Sportage, veered onto the shoulder of the roadway, colliding with an abandoned Dodge Dart. The impact caused the Dodge to be propelled across the interstate, while the Kia flipped over, eventually coming to rest on the shoulder.
Emergency responders transported the woman to a local hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. Authorities are investigating why the Kia drifted off the roadway and why the Dodge Dart had been left abandoned.
Traffic disruptions on I-275 following the crash remain unconfirmed, as FHP has not released details on the impact to commuter flow. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with additional updates expected as authorities work to uncover the circumstances surrounding this devastating accident.
