Brevard County, FL (January 21, 2025) – A fiery crash involving a semi-truck caused significant disruptions on Interstate 95 Tuesday morning. The accident occurred near mile marker 202 just before 7 a.m., according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
Preliminary reports indicate that the truck driver veered off the road for unknown reasons, striking a tree before the vehicle caught fire. Both the driver and a passenger were able to escape the truck, sustaining only minor injuries. Emergency crews, including the fire department, remain at the scene to extinguish the blaze and remove the vehicle.
The crash has resulted in the closure of the center and outside lanes of southbound I-95. While traffic can pass in the inside lane, significant delays are being reported. The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office initially stated that the closures would last until the evening, but FHP has yet to confirm a timeline for reopening the roadway.
Motorists are advised to plan for additional travel time or consider alternate routes until the scene is cleared. Our thoughts are with those affected, and we are grateful no severe injuries were reported.
