St. Charles, MO (January 21, 2025) – A two-vehicle collision occurred during rush hour Monday evening on westbound Interstate 70 near First Capitol Drive at approximately 5:33 p.m., resulting in injuries to one individual.

The crash involved a 2011 Buick LaCrosse, driven by a 40-year-old female from St. Louis, MO, and a 2019 Ford F350, driven by a 33-year-old male, also from St. Louis. According to reports, the Buick slowed due to traffic congestion ahead. The Ford’s driver attempted to avoid a collision by steering left but struck the left rear and side of the Buick with the right front and side of the Ford.

Both vehicles sustained significant damage, with the Buick declared a total loss. Both were towed by Superior Towing. The driver of the Buick suffered injuries and was transported by the St. Charles County Ambulance District to SSM Health DePaul Hospital for treatment. No injuries were reported for the Ford’s driver. The crash remains under investigation to determine further contributing factors.

We extend our sympathies to the injured driver and wish them a speedy recovery.

Interstate Accidents in Missouri

Interstate highways like I-70 are frequently the site of accidents, particularly during peak traffic hours. Congestion, sudden stops, and high speeds contribute to these incidents, with rear-end or side-impact collisions being among the most common.

Missouri drivers are urged to maintain safe following distances and stay alert in traffic. Advanced defensive driving techniques can help mitigate risks, especially during high-traffic periods. Additionally, proper vehicle maintenance, including brake systems and tires, is essential for reducing the likelihood of accidents.

Victims of interstate crashes often face medical expenses, vehicle repair costs, and time away from work, creating financial and emotional burdens. Understanding the insurance process and seeking professional legal advice can help ensure fair compensation and support recovery efforts.
