Oakland, CA (January 20, 2025) – Emergency responders were dispatched to a traffic collision on Interstate 580 East, just west of the Park Blvd on-ramp, early Monday morning. The incident caused significant lane blockages and involved multiple vehicles.
The accident was reported at approximately 7:44 AM and initially involved a black Toyota RAV4 and a silver Chevrolet Malibu. Later updates included additional vehicles, including a gray Nissan Rogue and a gray sedan. Several vehicles sustained major front-end and rear-end damage, and at least two towing services, Auto Plus Towing and San Leandro Tow, were called to the scene to assist in removing the damaged vehicles.
Emergency responders arrived to assess the situation and ensure the safety of those involved. While initial reports suggested no injuries, fire crews were requested to confirm the status of all parties. Traffic was disrupted as lanes 1 through 3 were blocked during cleanup and recovery efforts. The incident remains under investigation to determine the cause and circumstances surrounding the crash.
